Perspectives on palliative care – special session Tweed, Fri 28 Nov 2014
A special session for clinicians and other involved parties to discuss palliative care with a leading Australian expert will be held at the Wedgetail Retreat www.wedgetailretreat.com.au near Murwillumbah on Friday 28 November, 11.00am-1.30 pm.
The session is organised by Tweed Palliative Support, which provides free, home-based and live-in hospice support for people living with life-limiting illness and who require end-of-life care.
The talk and following Q & As will feature Emeritus Professor Ian Maddocks AM, the first Chair of Palliative Care at Flinders University and inaugural President of the Australasian Association for Hospice and Palliative Care, and the Australian and NZ Society for Palliative Medicine.
Dr Maddocks was Senior Australian of the Year in 2013.
Titled “Dying Well – A medical, family and community perspective,” the session will also include lunch.
